Abducted teachers and students in Epe regain freedom

(October 12, 2016) The four pupils and two teachers kidnapped last Thursday at the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla in Epe, have regained their freedom. The pupils – Abu, Emmanuel Okonkwo, Jeremiah Ruth, Isaac Adebisi – Vice Principal, Junior School, AO Oyesola and English teacher, Lukman Oyerinde, who were kidnapped at about 8am at the school premises were released around 10:30pm, last night.

Details of their release or whether ransom was paid to secure their release could not be ascertained at the time of this report.

The kidnappers who initially demanded N120 million, were said to have reviewed the amount to N3.5m on Sunday.

It is yet to be confirmed whether any arrest has been made.
